Calling for fun cupcake ideas
So, now that I've decided on a date and theme for O's party, I gotta get cracking. It's a little over a month away. I've got the dessert figured out (that was the easy part). I though about making these but I don't want to go overboard on the theme. I will definitely have to try them out though. They look fun! I am sure that one year old parties are all about eating not games and activities, right?

Noodlicious
My favorite kind of meal is one that I can make once and get two meals out of it. So when I opened up an old "Taste of Home's Simple & Delicious" I had laying around, I stumbled upon a real winner! I made it several weeks ago and froze one pan of it. I think the real test is always how the frozen one turns out, so when I cooked it this week I knew it was a keeper. It caught my eye because I usually have the ingredients on hand.
Hamburger Noodle Bake
5 c. uncooked egg noodles
2 lbs. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
2 cans (10 3/4 oz each) condensed tomato soup
2 c. (8 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. chili sauce
1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
3 T. butter, melted
Cook noodles according to package directions until tender; drain. In a large skillet, cook the beef, onion and green pepper over medium-high heat for 10-12 minutes or until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the noodles, soup, cheese, water and chili sauce. Transfer to two greased 8-in. square baking dishes. Toss bread crumbs and butter: sprinkle over casseroles. Bake one casserole, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until bubbly and golden. Cover and freeze remaining casserole for up to 3 months.
To use frozen casserole: Remove from the freezer 30 minutes before baking (do not thaw). Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Uncover: bake 10-15 minutes longer .or until heathed through.
It's not a fancy recipe but easy and makes two! I am always looking for recipes that I can use bread crumbs too. I always run my heels and old pieces of bread through the food processor to make crumbs and freeze them. Lately, the bags have been piling up.

To The Ville of Green we go...
Off to Greenville, IL for a weekend trip. We are hoping to get some family and Olivia pictures made for O's birthday and see Uncle Jeff in action at the first home football game of the new season. Benny is growing too fast. He will probably be walking by the next time we see him. I think we will have to load him up on kisses for the long breaks. I am sure he's lacking on those. . . While we're here, Olivia hopes to educate her cuz on all things that start with "T" (toots, tantrums, and trouble in general). She's even given him kisses!
Olivia has decided she's above baby food. She is enjoying eating off mom and dad's plate. This can sometimes make deciding what to make for dinner difficult. Got to be healthy for her! Maybe this will be a good development for us all!

The Haze is Clearing
Now that Joe Ben and I are crawling out of our Twilight submersion the last couple of weeks, we will strive to keep our loved ones better updated. We've been keeping ourselves busy on the weekends visiting family and friends. Olivia has started talking up a storm (or just babbling because there's no actual words yet) and stands up on her own. No steps yet. We have 6 teeth and counting! We'll get some pictures made this coming weekend and Olivia will see her first football game of the 09 season too! Then it will be countdown to birthday numero uno! And Halloween, still not sure what she should be this year. I can't wait for the days when she can make that decision.
