Time Flies. . .

I promise an update will be coming soon. We're keeping pretty busy chasing after Olivia these days. She wants to be OUTSIDE all the time. She is already darker than me which doesn't say much. We got a slide/swingset that is slowly coming together. We're heading to St. Louis to the Zoo and a Cards game so we should have some good pics to put up.

I've lost count on how many words Olivia is saying. It seems like I hear a new one every couple of days. She's enjoying our stroller rides around the neighborhood and going to the local parks. She is getting picky on her food. Seems like she eats more fruit than anything. They call her a steamroller at day care. Guess we won't have to worry about her getting beat up!

Sign Language

So for Father's Day 2008 (pre-Olivia), I got JB a book about baby sign language. Of course, it make a great conversation piece in our living room but that's about all the use it has received. Last year, I noticed the same book at day care so I was ready to break it out again if I noticed any activity coming home. Well, this week it happened! She signed "more" on the way to school on Monday and I about drove off the road. Okay, maybe not, because I was still parked in the garage. Luckily, that was one of the few words I knew so I could actually acknowledge what she wanted. I got a sheet at day care last night to figure out which ones they practice daily and went over them last night. She copied me after I did the sign for "please" too! What a smartie!

She is progressing on words too. I think these are the ones I can think of that I understand when she says them:

cracker
diaper
apple
more
eat
ball
eye
cat

New Hobbies

What does one do after we have exhausted pulling the tupperware out of the cabinet?
We climb in, naturally! This is Olivia's newest thing to do. She loves to climb in, on, out, you name it. If it's possible for her to hike her leg up, she will attempt to tackle it. The other day when I dropped her off at day care, she went straight to a collapsible soft block and placed it stragetically in front of the toy kitchen to stand on. No, it didn't work.
What the cabinet looks like after she's done with it. Fun times. . . nightly. . .
She is also in to sticking out her bottom lip.

Is this a guilty party if you ever saw one? She got a little chair from a good friend over Christmas break and loves to move it around the house to sit, or more important, climb on. Her fave spot is in front of light switches. Not easy to cook with flickering lights!

2010 Resolutions

1. Maintain night routine.
2. Perfect pie crust including rolling out dough.
3. Make stuffing for a holiday meal.
4. Exercise.
5. Get to work on time.
6. Eat less processed foods.

They say it takes 6 weeks to make something a habit. If I make each one a two month project, I should be able to succeed on all before 2011. I feel like I should set more goals, but I am restraining myself to take baby steps! Happy 2010 everyone!
